Abstract (EN)

Mehmet Cemal Mersinli was born in Mersin in 1873 and died in Ankara in 1941. During his life of about 68 years, he found himself in critical events of recent Turkish history, and both through military and political affairs he touched important and influential events. In this thesis, the military and political life of Mersinli Cemal Pasha is examined under four chapters: In the first part, his activities in the First World War, In the second part, his activities during the Armistice Period and the duty of the Ministry of War, In the third part, Maltha exile days, his duty of deputy in the first half of the Parliament and his staying outside of the Assembly, In the fourth and the last part, his Izmir Assassination initiative and his VI. period the Parliamentery deputy of Içel is discussed. Also in the last part, the personality of Mersinli Cemal Pasha is touched and all his works that have survived to today is indicated.
