Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to discuss the physical change of the city following the arrival of Islam and Turks in Merv city through the analysis of the history of urbanization from the establishment of Merv city to the Mongol invasion. In line with this purpose, historical information within this scope has been included in comparative analysis with archeological studies on Merv. In the first chapter, the section containing Merv archeological report in the work of V. A. Zhukovsky`s "Razvaliny Starago Merva", which is one of the important sources has been translated into Turkish from Russian. In the second chapter, findings of recent archeological studies are presented. In the last chapter, the evaluation of the translated work, the dynamics and elements of the Turkish-Islamic urbanism have been examined specifically in Merv city.
