MERYEM-TÂHÂ SÛRELERİNDEKİ KIRAAT FARKLILIKLARI VE ANLAMA ETKİSİ

This study examines the impact of Qira'at variants in the Surahs of Maryam and Tâhâ on their meanings and how these variations are reflected in Turkish translations. The thesis consists of an introduction and two main chapters. The introductory section explores several research-related issues. The first chapter provides a general introduction to the science of Qira'at to establish a solid framework for the study and ensure a better understanding of the content. In this context, subjects such as the scope of Qira'at, its historical development, the leading Imams of recitation, and the classification of Qira'at are discussed. Subsequently, orientalist studies on Qira'at and their influences are examined. This is followed by general overview of Surahs Maryam and Tâhâ, highlighting their main themes and content. The second chapter investigates all the difference in recitation in Sûrahs Maryam and Tâhâ, explaining the reflections of meaning-altering variants on translations. This section presents the modes of Istiadha and Basmala during the transition to both Surahs, followed by explanations of phonetic variants, noting which Imam or Rawi applied them. The subsequent section identifies variations regarding Farsh al-Huruf, categorizing them into two separate headings: those that alter the meaning and those that do not. The underlying reasons for these Qira'at variations and their semantic effects are demonstrated by utilizing prominent works from the fields of Tafsir and Qira'at. Finally, the contributions of influential Qira'at variants to Turkish translations produced during the Republican era are addressed. The study concludes with a comprehensive evaluation based on the overall findings.
