Abstract (EN)

Painting decoration has been one of the main trends of people since prehistoric times (Stone Age, Copper Age). On the other hand, the conditions of the region are important for the materials used in the decoration. The Turks began to use wooden materials in decoration, dating back to the dates they had lived in the Tastik culture in Central Asia (300-400 BC). The basis of painted and embroidered wooden ceilings comes from the painted, gold-embroidered and wooden pole tents of Turkish kagans. The tradition of the mosgue with wooden pillars and wooden ceilings was moved from Central Asia to Anatolia by the Seljuks. It is known that Anatolia is a tree rich region. It is known that Turks started to use wood material more widely in Anatolia. Unique works in which the painting decoration, which has a wide range of use in religious and civil architecture in Turkish art, are applied on wooden materials are found in our various regions. It is located in some cities, some towns and villages (Erbaa Akça Village, Merzifon Kara Mustafa Paşa Village) of the rare examples of the mosques with wooden pillars and wooden ceilings, the first examples of which were from the Seljuk period, in Anatolia. The oldest example of the wooden mosque (1206), which we can see, is decorated with painted embroidery in Anatolia, Wednesday, Göçeli Mosque.Style features of the Seljuk period can be seen in the first period works of wooden mosques decorated with pencil work that increased during the Ottoman period. A more elegant and harmonious style was used in the classical period pen works. Mosques with wooden pillars and wooden ceilings were built until the beginning of the 20th century. Many of the patterns and patterns used in other art branches of Turkish-Islamic art have been successfully applied in woodwork pencil decoration. Geometric shapes considered as the symbol of eternity, the shape of the rhythm formed by the stylization of some animal stuff ,and the wooden ceilings, which are formed by the stylization of herbal weaves (bug, carnation, tulip, pomegranate flower, poppy, etc.) were decorated. It has been determined as a result of the examinations where the mosques with wooden ceilings in various regions of Anatolia are also found in Merzifon. In this study, wooden ceilings decorated with pencil work in Merzifon were examined. Âbide Hâtun Mosque, Eyüp Çelebi Mosque, Büyük Hacı Hasan Mosque, Çay (Aşçı Hüseyin Ağa) Mosque and Hanife Hatun Mosque, which are found in the Merzifon District of Amasya, are the works of tezyinat art.
