Abstract (EN)

Virtual reality and augmented reality are widely used in many areas of our lives. However, there are few systematic reviews on the application of virtual and augmented reality in vocational and technical education. The aim of this research, which was created by searching the Web Of Science database, is to systematically examine the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in vocational and technical education. Qualitative research method was used in the study and national and international literature on the subject was reviewed. Through cross-referencing and abstract reading, 44 relevant studies were selected. The data obtained were analysed by content analysis method. According to the results of the study, the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in vocational and technical education increases students' motivation, learning performance and class participation. In addition, thanks to these technologies, students can better understand complex subjects, have the opportunity to practice, gain experience and learn without making mistakes. However, there are also various difficulties such as hardware and software costs, inadequate technology usage skills of teachers and lack of technological infrastructure. In this study, it is suggested that in-service trainings should be provided for teachers, technological infrastructure should be improved and incentives for the use of these technologies in schools should be increased in order to use virtual and augmented reality technologies more effectively in vocational and technical education. In addition, it is also important to conduct cost-benefit analyses on the use of these technologies and to examine the attitudes of students, teachers and administrators towards these technologies. In conclusion, the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in vocational and technical education enriches learning processes and increases students' interest and motivation. However, the necessary infrastructure, training and support should be provided for the successful implementation of these technologies.
