An investigation of the relationship of professional burnout, alienation to work and cyber loafing: A research on accounting professional groups

This study was carried out on accounting professional groups and office employees in order to examine the relationship between professional burnout, cyber loafing and work alienation behavior. The study was conducted as a general survey and the sampling method was used to reach the sampling. Accounting sector employees were chosen for the study and 239 people formed the sample of the study. The survey method, one of the quantitative data collection techniques, was used to collect the necessary data in the study. In the first part of the survey, the descriptive demographic of the participants. eight questions (gender, age, marital status, education, years of experience, professional title, number of people in the room and income); In other parts of " Maslach Burnout Inventory ", "Cyber loafing Scale" and "Work Alienation Scale" were located, including three scales. The analysis of the data obtained in the research was made in the SPSS V22.0 package program. The t-test for comparing the paired groups in examining the differences with the demographic variables in the research; ANOVA test for comparing multiple groups ere used. Levene's variance homogeneity test was used to examine the homogeneity of the groups before applying the ANOVA test. Welch or Brown - Forsythe tests were used for multiple comparisons that do not show homogeneity. To examine the relationship between research variables, scatter diagram was made and correlation of the analysis was used. As a result of the research; There is no significant difference between burnout according to the gender variable; in emotional exhaustion and depersonalization by age; in the personal success dimension according to education level; It has been observed that there are significant differences in emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions according to years of experience and professional title. According to gender variable of cyber loafing variable in e-mail activities dimension; significant differences were observed in both sub-dimensions according to age, education level, years of experience, and professional title. In the alienation to work variable, there is no significant difference between the groups according to the variables of gender, education level and years of experience; it was concluded that there were significant differences between groups according to age and professional title. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that there is a significant relationship between the Internet surfing sub-dimension of cyber loafing and only depersonalization dimension; The alienation to work of a significant relationship with professional burnout all sizes that; It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between work alienation and sub-dimensions of cyber loafing.
