Companies and banks in operati̇on in Trabzon from constitutional Monarchy to the establishment of the Turkish Republic

Trabzon was an important port city in each peried of the history. It connects the Black Sea to inland zanes with land route. With this feature, it has a strategic location bath in land and sea transportation. The expasitians, which made in Trabzon are an indicator of this. The aim of this study is to investigate the companies and banks established in Trabzon, which dominated the social and commercial life, from the Constitutional monarchy until the establishment of the Turkish Republic. For this purpose, the social and economic life of the Sanjak of Trabzon between the Constitutional monarchy years and the Republican period was investigated and the Sanjak was evaluated in terms of its economy. Furthermore, the difficulties during the economical activites and the institutians which dominated the commercial life of he Sanjak were recevived. Economic life in the city was studied in the historical process. Secondarily, companies and banks in business during the period were investigated and it was aimed to give information about their establishment and commercial lives.
