From text to stage: An example of writing, reading, and staging work from a feminist theater perspective: If women speak

As known, the art of theater consists of two essential realms of work. The first layer of this realm comprises the discovery of a dramatic material by a playwright, its evaluation through dramaturgical desk work, and the process of writing the play script. The second layer of this realm consists of the discovery of mentioned dramatic text by a director and the process of bringing it to the stage through actors. In this context, it can be said that the main route of this thesis work is formed by these two realms. In the first part of this thesis work, the concept of feminism is addressed, and theoretical information about feminist theater formation is provided. In the second part of the study, based on the information obtained, a play script titled "If Women Speak" with a feminist approach has been written, dramaturgical desk work has been carried out focusing on the text, and information about the staging process has been provided in the directorial stage.
