Abstract (EN)
Many existing reinforced concrete buildings that are located in seismically active areas fail to meet the current seismic codes. At the same time, as a result of strong earthquakes, many buildings are subject to damage and destruction accompanied by major material damage. In this study, the performance of an existing reinforced concrete building that was located at the seismically active area was first evaluated according to DBYBHY 2007 and its condition was determined. Then, element strengthening and strengthening of system alternatives were examined according to the 2007 code. Strengthening project that provides the desired level of performance according to DBYBHY 2007 has been additionally evaluated and compared to TBDY 2018 but it was observed that it did not provide the desired performance level in the 2018 code. In this case, some additions were made in the strengthening project and made suitable for TBDY 2018. Keywords: Strengthing, Levels of damage, Performance analayzing, System improvment
