Abstract (EN)
Rapidly developing cities and technological developments after the industrial revolution caused an increase in the use of fossil resources. The fact that people do not compromise their comfort areas and the unconscious increase in the use of fossil resources have brought environmental problems. Our country supplies fossil fuels through imports, which makes the country's economy difficult. The building sector has an important share in energy consumption in our country and in the world, considering the construction and usage stages. There are two methods for transforming existing structures into energy efficient. First is the method of demolishing and rebuilding the existing building, and the other is the improvement of the existing building in line with the appropriate energy efficient design criteria. Completely demolishing and rebuilding the building is both more costly and the amount of CO₂ emitted into the atmosphere compared to the improvement works. In this thesis, the heating energy of an existing building has been analyzed through BIM (Building Information Modeling) and BEM (Building Energy Modeling). Passive and active systems have been examined and the use of renewable energy has been evaluated, with reference to their applicability in buildings. General features of the building, external environmental features, optical and thermophysical properties of the building envelope were given. As passive systems, the building; The effect of alternatives with different U values on the windows and outer walls on the heating energy was examined and it was observed that the lower the U value of the building components, the lower the heating energy use of the building. The energy change was examined by making changes in the window-wall ratios of the facades of the building, and as the window surface area increased, the heating energy required by the building increased. PV panels were added to the structure as active systems, high efficiency systems were preferred in the HVAC operating system and the simulation results were examined.
