The concept of miracle in Mawdudi's tafsir named Tafhim al-Quran

From the point of view of the science of tafsir, the subject of miracles is rather extraordinary events that took place with an attempt to support the claims and prophecy of the prophets. Rather, these events are reflected in the verses as unusual and unprecedented situations that were sent as a blessing or punishment to their tribes related to the hand of the prophets. Since the first attempts to interpret the Qur'an, such verses have been interpreted by the commentators of each era and thought in the scale and quality that their era and intellectual infrastructure allow and require. The subject of miracle, which has come to the fore from many aspects from the first prophet to the last prophet, has kept its place on the agenda even in the modern era, and has managed to become a popular topic in the field of religion and theology, which has been updated and reinterpreted by the relevant people of each period with the change of time and conditions. The subject of this study is the miracle verses in the work called Tefhimu'l-Qur'an, which was handled by Ebu'l-A'lâ Mawdudi, one of the modern period commentators, and the events within the miracle subject. Our author has interpreted some of these verses and events in a unique way, unlike other commentators. While interpreting miraculous events, he compares some of these events with similar events in today's world, and supports some of them with developments such as current science and technology. In the first part of our study, which consists of an introduction and three parts, there are Ebu'l-Al'â Mawdudi's life, works, some of the subjects he was criticized for and his general definition of miracle. In the second part, the model of the research and the sources of information gathering are discussed. In the third chapter, the concept of miracle, which constitutes the essence of our study, and the concepts related to miracles are included. In this section, the view of some mufassirs who lived in the modern period towards miracles and Mawdudi's interpretation of the miracle verses are emphasized.
