Abstract (EN)

The basic approach in ergonomics is to use data and information related to the anatomical, physiological, and psychological aspects of the equipment and of the environment in a way to increase the comfort, health, and productivity of the people. As a human-machine interaction system, the aerodrome control process which is part of the air traffic control is the place where the flight begins and ends. In this context, the human factors environment which is directly related to the flight safety, the equipment used for this and their locations are very important. The effects of the stress of the air traffic controllers, which work in the most stressful occupation of today, can be relieved by the application of ergonomic designs. In this study, how the aerodrome control towers and associated systems should design according to the ergonomic approaches is defined. Moreover, how the Anadolu University?s airport control tower should be improved according to the ergonomics principles is presented including the current situation.
