Abstract (EN)
In this study, The effect of strontium element in Mg-%3Sn alloy were investigated. Wt.%0.05-0.1-0.2-0.5 and %1 value of strontium vas added to Mg-%3Sn alloy. The alloys were produced under acontrolled atmosphere by a gravity-casting process. The microstructures and mechanical properties of the alloys were investigated. The results show that the addition of Sr element modified the microstructure. X-ray difractometry revealed that the main phases are ?-Mg, Mg2Sn in the all of alloys. Furthermore, it is not observed any Sr based intermetallics in all alloys tested. The hardness of Mg-%3Sn alloy increased however, the yield strength of alloys didn?t change by adding Sr. The greatest tensile strenght and elongation were exhibited by Mg-%3Sn-%0.1Sr alloy.
