Abstract (EN)
Gastric cancer is a type of cancer with high mortality and morbidity. Environmental and genetic factors play an important role in its pathogenesis. For this purpose, genes that are candidates for "cancer susceptibility" are determined, and the importance of gene variants in cancer susceptibility is investigated by polymorphism studies. In studies, it has been determined that genes belonging to cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptotic processes, metabolic enzymes, proteins involved in DNA repair, and genetic variations in mediators involved in inflammatory processes play an important role in disease susceptibility and prognosis. In this study, the relationship between TRAIL and its receptor TRAIL-DR4 gene variants, which play a role in the apoptotic process, and the clinical characteristics of the disease and disease susceptibility were investigated. In our study, TRAIL 1595C / T and TRAIL-DR4 C626G genotype frequencies were examined, and no significant difference was found between "gastric cancer cases" and the control group. The frequency of CC genotype frequency (60%) was found to be the highest in the patient group. TRAIL-DR4 C626G GG and GC "genotype frequency frequency" (40%) were determined to be equal. There was no difference between genotype frequencies in terms of clinical parameters (tumor stage, lymph node involvement, distant metastasis, perineural invasion. No difference was found between serum TRAIL levels of patient and control groups. There are differences in the results of the studies in the literature. Studies on a larger patient group is needed.
