Sipehsâlâr translations of Midhat Bahârî Hüsâmî (Beytur) and A. Avni Konuk

The life history of Turkish thinker and poet Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî, who has been frequently mentioned due to his life and works in Turkish Classic literature, written in Persian language by his discipline Ahmed-i Sipehsâlâr, was traslated by Mithat Bahârî BEYTUR, as Terceme-i Risâle-i Sipehsâlâr Menâkıb-ı Hazret-i Hudâvendigâr and by Ahmet Avni Konuk into Ottoman Turkish as Menâkıb-ı Hazret-i Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî and by Profesor Tahsin Yazıcı as Mevlânâ and his disciplines into modern Turkish cultural world by making comparasions of all three translations in terms of contents and styles and by the translations of Mithat Bahârî Beytur and Ahmet Avni Konuk into modern Turkish. The thesis consists of three sections. In the first section, the comparisons of Sipehsalar translations are conducted and similarities and differences are examined. In the second and third section, the translation by Mithat Bahari Beytur and the translation by Ahmet Avni Konuk are transcribed into the new Turkish alphabet, respectively. With this study, it is aimed to study the migration of Mevlana and his family from thee city of Belh, the reasons for their immigration, arrival in Anatolia, the settlement of Bahaeddin Veled and his subjects in Konya, the upbringing years and events in this period in the life of Mevlana, his prayers, his religious stories, his love and fear of Allah, his being free from sins, the reason for the development in his poems, the difference between the miracle and supernatural powers of human, the explanations of the ranks in religious people, the instruction of whirling to his students by Mevlana, meeting with Tebrizli ġems, the effects of Mevlana and Hazret-i ġems on Sultan Veled, supernatural and metaphysics powers, relations with his disciplines, friends, and process of writing down Mesnevî-i Ma‟nevî, his relations with Hüsameddin Çelebi his death and the successors after the death of Mevlana and to make Risâle-i Sipehsâlâr translation available to our world of thought.
