Özet (EN)
Migraine is described as severe pain that is usually unilateral, sometimes bilateral. The study was carried out female patients between the ages between 18-65 and diagnosed with chronic aura-free migraine by physican. The participants were randomly divided into two groups. Demographic information of individuals was recorded. Individuals were evaluated by the Visual analog Scale (VAS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PUKI) and Quality of Life Scale (SF-36). An algometer device was used to assess the pressure-based pain threshold. Connective tissue massage was applied to the first group. Proprioceptive neuromuscular fasiliation techniques were applied to the second group. The mean age of all participants was 35.07±9.83 years. A decrease pain and increase in sleep quality were observed after both treatments (p<0.05). Results in terms of pain (VAS) and sleep quality were found to be similar before and after the treatment when compared between groups (p>0.05). Pressure-based pain threshold values increased in both groups (p<0.05). Pre- and post-treatment outcomes of both groups were similar when comparing pressure-based pain threshold values between groups (p>0.05). When patients were evaluated for quality of life, an increase was observed in both groups in the majority of sub-parameters of SF-36 values before and after the treatment (excluding physical function and overall health perception sub-parameters) (p<0.05). When we compared to the values between groups before and after the treatment, only the emotional role difficulty sub-parameter of SF-36 was found different (p<0.05). The connective tissue massage and proprioseptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques have positive effects on migraine pain, quality of sleep and life. In the interventions for migraine treatment, both treatment methods can be applied interchangeable or combined with different treatments.
