Dimension concept and size effecting factors in the mix stage

In his book "The Art of Mixing" (and in related video film), David Gibson chooses the way of transferring certain terms related to mixing to the reader by corroborating the application of various techniques and visual elements related to these techniques. Imaging is the basis of this method. It is expressed in various sources that it is effective for sound sources to position the frequency areas in the vertical, the use of the panorama in the horizontal and the use of sound levels and some time-based sound effects, such as reverb and delay, in the depth axis (far vs. near). Gibson believes that the human body is also an instrument supporting the hearing system in the perception of different frequency domains. In this study, it is aimed to show to what extent the related imagining takes place if the related tools and recommended techniques are utilized in the case of "headset" use for listening. For this purpose, 10 different mixes were created using different instruments and parameters, and specific images showing the positions of the instruments in these mixes were also prepared. These mixes and images were presented to a group of experiment groups who are believed to have analytical listening ability, and they were wanted to associate the visuals with the mixes they are listening to. Listening of the mixes to the experimental group was carried out through headphones. The findings were evaluated and presented considering the main purpose of the study and its questioning.
