Abstract (EN)

The mass production approach, which aims to standardize living spaces by determining the basic spatial needs of the user, can serve more than one user at the same time in a short time at low cost. In mass production, the designer designs for an anonymous user group. This situation has prevented meeting the different needs and desires of various users over time. Unlike the fast, low-cost and low-quality products of mass production, the mass customization approach aims to provide fast, low-cost and high-quality products to the user. This approach emerged with the idea of solving the problems created by standardization by meeting the individual needs of the user that mass production eliminates. With its highly customizable products, mass customization allows the user to take part in the design, giving the user an identity. While the user is involved in providing the designer with user data to be used in the design, the designer will play a role in the making a creation using this data. Since it is not possible to process the data of each individual individually in a mass-scale design, information and communication technologies are used to collect, accumulate and process user data. With the help of technological devices used constantly in daily life, it is possible to obtain data that will enable customization in users' living spaces. In this study, a user-centered data framework is created for the customization of users' living spaces with the data obtained from the user's daily activities and spatial routines. Using this data framework, not only can customizable housing be designed for different users. At the same time, through continuous observation with the help of information and communication technologies, it is also possible to customize the user's existing house by identifying the changing needs and desires of users over time. Observation of the user's activities and spatial routines will support customization in housing by providing a user profile.
