Assocation between stroke and cardiovascular conditions and assesment of the relation between risc factors and stress ecg in patients with minor stroke

Aim : To assess the coronary artery stenosis with a less invasive test, stress test electrocardiogram, than coronary angiography in the patients with stroke. Methods: 121 patients with stroke between Jan 2014 – May 2015 were enrolled. 21 patients are found as unfit and excluded from the study. Patients were evaluated by biochemical investigations (HDL,LDL,HB1AC,CRP,Sedimentation rate), age , gender, carotid and/or vertebral artery stenosis which are assessed by CT or MRI Angiography. Correlations between investigations and stress ecg results were evaluated Results: The gender of the patients is found 78 % male and 22 % female. HDL level is found decreased 51 % of the patients. LDL level is found elevated in 41 % of the patients. HbA1C level is found elevated that expected level in 66 % ot the patients. While CRP level is found elevated in 44 % of the patients, sedimentation level was elevated in 42 % of the patients. Carotid and/or vertebral artey stenosis are found in the 51 % of the patients. 26 out of 100 patients who had a completed stress test ecg had a related result with ischemia. In 51 out of 100 patients who had carotid and/or vertebral stenosis assessed with stress test ecg are found that there is a lineer correlation between carotid and/or vertebral stenosis and stress test ecg result.In this case, it is found that there is a related/linear correlation between stress test ecg and carotid and/or vertebral stenosis ( p < 0.05 ). The other datas were not found correlated with stress test ecg. Conclusion:. Due to our study, there is a positive correlation between carotis artery stenosis and stress ecg test among minor ischemic patients
