Mitigating control delays in EMS for solar power plants: Enhancing closed-loop performance

Abstract (EN)

The content of this study examines the control losses and difficulties caused by communication and control delays in solar power plants in both simulation and real field environments, focusing especially on Energy Management Systems (EMS) and closed-loop control systems. Data transmission and control delays due to time losses in the transmitted data algorithms can affect the performance of solar energy systems. In order to reduce these effects and provide solutions, the Proportional-Integral (PI) control algorithm was applied and tested through MATLAB simulations and field applications in the research. Findings show that optimized control parameters reduce the impact of delays, resulting in increased system responses and stability, faster response times, and increased efficiency in energy production. Real-world applications validate the simulation results, confirming the beneficial effects of the proposed methods. This study not only improves solar power plant performance but also provides a framework and application method for delay reduction strategies in other systems which include closed-loop control algorithms. In conclusion, this research provides practical solutions to minimize control delays in solar power plants and improve energy efficiency and system reliability.
