Examination of Miyase Sertbarut's works of children's literature in terms of aesthetic criteria

The aim of this research is to examine the works of Miyase Sertbarut, who produces works in the field of children's literature, in the context of predetermined aesthetic criteria. The data for this research is gathered from Miyase Sertbarut's literature works named as "Çöp Plaza-1, Hayaller Hawaii-Çöp Plaza 2, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü-Troller, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü-Cesaret Oyunu". The basic qualitative pattern was utilized to examine and evaluate aforementioned author's five children's literature works in terms of aesthetic criteria. In the research, the data obtained by the basic qualitative pattern was evaluated and interpreted through content analysis. During the data analysis phase, the "aesthetic criteria checklist" prepared by Dedeoğlu Orhan (2019) was utilized. The literature works were examined in the context of 11 criteria and 42 subcriteria in the checklist. After the examination of the data, they were categorized and interpreted according to predetermined criteria. According to the data obtained from the research, it was observed that the works named "Çöp Plaza-1, Hayaller Hawaii-Çöp Plaza 2, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü-Troller, Ünsüz Youtuber'ın Günlüğü-Cesaret Oyunu" mostly have met the aesthetic criteria. Based on the work, sample findings which met the criteria were included in the research. The five works examined have 28 yes, 20 partially and 6 no answers out of 11 determined criteria. It was concluded that the five works examined had qualities that could create an aesthetic perspective in the childhood. Therefore, the works have the quality of both directing children to the beautiful one and developing their linguistic, affective and cognitive skills.
