Impact of mobile devices (tablet pc)in education and training

In this research, we aim to show the contribution of the Tablet PCs to the education. The necessary data is attained by the tests prepared for this aim. It is thought that the mobile devices and the Tablet PC's becoming widespread in the educational system will attract the students' attraction to the school and the education. It is aimed to contribute to the cooperation and relation among students and teachers in this study. Also in this study, four tests are applied to 10th grade students studying in Amasya Anatolian High School, Amasya Religious Vocational High School where Tablet PC's are delivered to students by the official authorities. The attitude scale is applied to 216 students in order to analyze the students' attitude to the usage of Tablet PCs. In general, the students have stated a hesitant opinion towards to the usage of tablet PCs in the lessons. The observation scales and success scales are applied to the classes with Tablet PC (test) and to classes without Tablet PC (control) separately and the difference between these classes has been studied. The observation scale was applied during the Maths (chosen as a numeric course) and Language and Expression (chosen as a verbal course) classes while the teacher was telling the subject. According to the observation scales, it has been observed that the teaching duration in the group with tablet PCs is shorter than the teaching duration in the group without Tablet PCs. The success scales are applied to test and control groups after and before the teaching period of Maths and Language and Expression courses. According to the success scales, the difference between the fore tests and final tests in the group with Tablet PCs is slightly more than the difference between the tests of the group without Tablet PCs.
