Abstract (EN)
With the widespread use of mobile phones, increasing use of mobile applications in different areas of life, also have gained a large place in the education. The applications among the ones developed for the exams in the Turkish Education System and based on the purpose of problem solving and lecturing are especially prefered by users. Between the reasons of the preference of the rapid increasing number of education apps in the application markets of the different operating system platforms, perhaps the most important one is the aesthetic appereance of the icons that apps have. In this thesis, the visual symmetrical side of the icons of the most downloaded apss which are developed for the Public Personel Election Exam (aka. KPSS), is emphasized. Two different type of data are obtained by working on the icons with image processing and survey techniques. By comparing the obtained data with the binary logistic regression method, it was determined that the visual symmetry in the application icons partially contributed to the aesthetic appreciation.
