Product and process development in a company producing plastic products for furniture sector

In today's conditions, with the increase in worldwide communication, the interaction of cultures has accelerated and consumer habits have started to change in a continuous dynamism. This situation has started to strain the R & D and production processes of sectors that develop end-consumer oriented products such as furniture. Managing these processes has become more difficult with change. Process actors also had to continue their work on new methods and systems at the same pace to overcome the difficulties. In this study, the pre-R&D, R&D process and transition stages to mass production, and after and after mass production of plastic components that play an important role in furniture design and production process were examined. The applications developed were applied and tested in Elifoğlu Plastik company operating in Kayseri Orgined Industrial Zone. Within the scope of the study, the pre-implementation status of the company, the results of the methods and tools during the application were discussed in detail. Considerable success has been achieved in transforming the idle capacity, which is one of the main objectives of all production systems, into active labor force and increasing productivity. As a result, as a sustainable production and process development is aimed, as the constraints and objectives in this field change, the studies will undergo change and new ones will be made.
