Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, modern Tunisian literature, which emerged in a complex with the reformist movements of the XVIIII. century, and the important literary developments that it witnessed in the early XX. century are tried to be given. The products written by the leading intellectuals and writers of the country, who resisted against the policies implemented by France in the country, to make their voices heard in the name of independence were examined. It was emphasized that they use literature as a tool and produce works of artistic value through publication. The stages of the theater, novel and especially the short story, which are among the literary genres that have emerged in the modern sense over time, are included and prominent story writers and their works are also discussed. Information about the life, literary personality and works of 'Alî al-Dû'âjî, one of the most important representatives of the short story in modern Tunisia, was given and the analysis of the story collection named Sahirtu minhu al-Layâlî was included.
