Abstract (EN)

Aim: Biomechanical shaping and hermetic sealing play an important role in the success of root canal treatment. Many irrigation solutions are used in clinics. There are many alternative root canal obturation materials to provide hermetic closure. The aim of this study is to investigate the connection of the modified material NaOCl to the dentin surface in the teeth filled with bioceramic based sealer, as compared with NaOCl, EDTA, MTAD and control group (distilled water), which are conventional irrigants, which are used as root canal shaping and final irrigation. Methods: 120 single rooted teeth cut from the enamel-cement level were grouped according to different irrigation and filling techniques, grouped into 12 teeth in each group. After the final irrigation with NaOCl, modified NaOCl, EDTA, MTAD and control group (distilled water) samples filled with bioceramic based sealer with or without core, then samples cut horizontal sections with 2 mm dentin thickness in root coronal and middle third. Measurements were made for each section. Results: In our study, the highest bonding strength was reported in NaOCl while the lowest bonding strength was observed in modified NaOCl. The resistance values of the coronal sections were significantly higher than those of the middle third, although not statistically significant. According to the results obtained from our study, the resistance of connection was found to be statistically higher than that of the groups with bulk filling (p <0.05). Conclusion: Because of the lower dentin connection value of modified bioceramic root canal paste of modified NaOCl, it is more accurate to use standard NaOCl of clinician in cases where monoblock effect is expected in canal filling. We also think that bioceramic paste should be used as non-cored for high dentin connection. Keywords: Bioceramic based root canal sealer, modified NaOCl, bond strength.
