The image of women in Muallaka poetrys

This study aims to analyse the image of women in Muallaka Poetrys. As a prologue we tried to comprehend why this era was named "Cahiliyye" and looked into the relationship between sociology and the daily life of the people. We targeted to depict a general view of the said period through the main characteristics of the society; in terms of the beliefs, tradition and scientific background as well the geography shaping the conception of women as individual. While scrutinizing cahiliyye period social structure, we detailed many muallaka poetry each definitely is a masterpiece and their famed poets whom deserves all the respect. In these poems womens are defined and reviewed. Finally women's social status, ethical duties, daily routines, their maternal and matrimonial conditions, besides the physical, and aesthetic characters are revealed by almost each verse of the poems.
