The Message of the Qur'an, written by a convert of Western origin. A contemporary translation of the Qur'an; the verses, dedicated to a "thinking society" whose verses are translated with their concepts, taking into account the environment in which they are addressed as well as it tries to capture the message that touches our present day, without being stuck with historical people and places. The translation of Muhammed Esed's "The Message of the Qur'an", has been translated into many languages and reached a wide readership since it was written. While the work is examined in terms of content and content, the studies of the message of the Qur'an draws attention in its comments; Matters such as miracle, interpretation of the verses of judgment, attributing universal meanings to historical verses, reinterpreting the Qur'an concepts are also given special place, the way of translating and interpreting of the verses is evaluated and sometimes comparisons are made with different commentators. In this study, it will be examined whether it has created a defense mechanism by softening the meaning, deviating in the original meaning or covering it up while interpreting the verses about the Ahl al-Kitab, which is one of the criticisms made against Asad. Another subject of this study is, using this source as a material in the interpretation of the Qur'an due to his command of the holy text and how he handled it while interpreting the verses about the Ahl al-Kitab. Keywords; Tafsir, Muhammad Asad, The Message of the Qur'an, Ahl al-Kitab, The Bible
