Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to determine the most suitable method for accelerating wound healing and the patient's post operative complains. For this aim, the secondary palatal wound area was treated by T-PRF or LLLT and compared with untreated control group. The Wound Healing Index, tissue consistency, color match, H2O2 bubbling test for epithelization were recorded at 3rd, 7th,14th and 21st follow up days. The pain and burning level, number of analgesics that taken and post-operative bleeding status were recorded by patient for 7 days. Donor area tissue thickness was measured at baseline and 1 month post-op. The bubbles were observed at a lower percentage for test groups than control group at 14th day. The post operative bleeding prevalance was lower at 1st and/or 2nd days at test groups than control group. There were statistical differences between LLLT and control group for all time points and between T-PRF and control groups at 14th and 21st days post operatively. Also there were statistically significant differences for Wound Healing Index Scores between LLLT and control groups at all time points and between T-PRF and control groups at 14th and 21st days postoperatively. Color match scores were statistically significantly higher at test groups than control group at 7th and 14th days post operatively. When time dependent alteration of palatal soft tissue thickness was evaluated, a decrease was observed at control group according to baseline, however there were increments for test groups. It can be concluded that T-PRF and LLLT techniques have positive effects on wound healing.
