Abstract (EN)
In this thesis project, the data was evaluated which the study named the Investigation of Gene Expression in Bone Marrow Myeloma Cells by Multiple Myeloma Patients Using Transcriptome Sequencing Method that supported by the Istanbul University Scientific Research Projects Unit (Project No: 7348). Assessment of data revealed that the PTPN6, FUS, CD74, MS4A3, PRDX5 genes which are associated with some pathways such as signal transduction, immunological system and cellular response and UNC45B gene which is found to be the most significant difference in expression level between patient-control samples and it is aimed to make confirmation of the expression levels of these genes by the qRT-PCR technique. According to the study results, no statistically significant difference was found PTPN6, CD74, MS4A3 and UNC45B genes between the patient group (50 samples) and the control group (16 samples). However, FUS and PRDX5 genes were significantly higher in the patient group than in the control group. Considering the functions of FUS and PRDX5 genes and their importance in cancer, it is thought to be these genes may shed light on new treatment options for multiple myeloma.
