With the beginning of the Tanzimat Period, the role of the printing press in the development of Turkish literature, which turned towards the West, draws attention. Newspapers and magazines that emerged with the press life were used to convey very new ideas to the society yet. A great struggle was given by the writers and poets of the period against the structures built by the past. In this direction, the application of ideas was not neglected by publishing serials of poems, stories, plays and novels. Midhat Efendi, who guided his era with his role as an educator as well as a writer, founded the newspaper Tercüman-ı Hakîkat in 1878. He worked with the most important writers and poets of the period and guided them with the right steps and became a pioneer. At the same time, the newspaper undertook the task of an art school where young people are trained. Although the main purpose of publication is literature, works that will guide the society in many political, social, cultural and scientific fields have been revealed. This study covers the 3rd volume of Müntehabat-ı Tercümân-ı Hakîkat, which has encyclopedic value, selected from the newspaper Tercümân-ı Hakîkat by Midhat Efendi. At the same time, stories, poems, letters and articles are classified according to their subjects and types. In this arrangement, information about the contents of all works is given. Those related to literature were selected and transferred to today's letters.
