Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of different temperatures (4 °C, 22 °C, 4 °C + 22 °C) and media conditions (water, Hoagland and Hoagland + GA10 (10 ppm Gibberellic Acid) on seed germination and seedling growth of Verbascum coronopifolium (Boiss. & Balansa) Kuntze (Scrophulariaceae), an endemic species distributed in Murat Mountain in Kütahya, were investigated. The highest germination percentage 86% was found in 4 °C + 22 °C Hoagland + GA10 treatment and the lowest mean germination time (MGT) was determined in 4 °C + 22 °C Hoagland as 4.7 days. The highest germination index (GI) was calculated in 22 °C Hoagland + GA10 treatment as 8.1. The tallest seedlings 2,2 cm were found in water treatment at 4 °C + 22 °C and the highest seedling vigor index (SVİ) was found in 4 °C + 22 °C Hoagland + GA10 treatment (163,9). As a result, 4 °C + 22 °C stimulated Verbascum coronopifolium seed germination and 4 °C + 22 °C Hoagland + GA10 treatment was recommended for high germination percentage and healthy seedlings for the plant.
