Abstract (EN)

Mehmet Dumlu is an imam who lived in Kütahya between 1929-2011. He is not only known as an imam but hafiz, master of ceramics, musician and interested in Turkish and Islamic arts. He is also admired by the literary figures because he knows by heart the life of outstanding people in mysticism and their Ottoman poetry. Mehmet Dumlu is a sufi as well as becoming versatile. He is a sheikh in Halvetiye Cult based on Sabani branch. Mehmet Dumlu who has thousands of disciples in terms of domestic and outland has a wide range of information about Turkish Music. Many of his disciples are musicians or people interested in music. The life of Mehmet Dumlu has been investigated in depth through the technique of monography in this study. The intersecting points through music in his life have been determined. How he dealt the music has been also determined as a way of learning and teaching in his life. His contributions to the art particularly music have been ascertained at the end of the study. The musical notes of chant belonging to Kütahya Halveti Şabani Dergahı have been archived. The chants, devoid of notes, sung in Kütahya Halveti Şabani Dergahı have been adapted to notes by gathering together. Key Words: Mysticism, Kütahya, Disciple, Sheikh, Music.
