Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the distribution transformers on the Muş Alparslan University campus have been examined for power quality issues related to current and voltage harmonics. Measurements of current and voltage harmonics were recorded using an energy analyzer at the transformers on the campus. The obtained current and voltage harmonics were analyzed. The measurements revealed that the current harmonics were above the standard limits, while the voltage harmonics were within the standard limits. Using the current harmonic values, three-phase nonlinear load models were created in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The total harmonic distortion (THD) ratios of these models were found to be quite close to the values measured by the energy analyzer. A parallel active power filter designed to eliminate current harmonics was developed in Matlab/Simulink, and the performance of the parallel active power filter was evaluated for each transformer.
