Özet (EN)

Legends, which is a genre of Anonymous Folk Literature, are folk narratives without stereotypes and forms that are told about certain individuals, places and events. Mus is an extremely rich province in terms of oral culture products. In this respect, legends, one of the most important oral culture products in Mus, were chosen as the subject of the study. In this process, the legends in Muş and its districts were compiled and collected under a single source and classified by scientific methods. The study was limited to the city center of Mus, its districts and their villages. Field research method was used as the method. Interview method was preferred when the field was reached. Most of the legends to be compiled were recorded with voice recorders using this method and then transcribed. In order to save time in field research, the survey method was applied as a preliminary research method. As a result of these studies, 101 legends have been classified as six main titles and twenty sub titles. Afterwards, motifs of legends were determined and short evaluations were made on these motifs. After evaluations, the legends in the study were compared with the variants described in various parts of Anatolia.
