Mustafa b. Yusuf al-Kadiri and His as-Sayfu'l-Maslool li-Raddi'l-Jahool book

It cannot be denied that the commentary literature upheld an important place within the Ottoman era. Due to this intensity it is considered for minimal studies to be written in the science of hadith. However, starting from Turkey there is yet many libraries around the world that contain studies awaiting to be brought to day light that is going to change this conception. Other than identifying and acknowledging important individuals of sciences we also believe that their expertise and value will be further appreciated as a result of a wider intensive examination in manuscripts of their studies. With this said, the study that we have taken into account is written in the 18th century by an Ottoman muhaddith named Mustafa b. Yusuf. We have tried to introduce him through the manuscript copies that was acquired from his study named as-Sayfu'l-maslool li-raddi'l-jahool. The methodology of the author's commentary on the hadith is an example of a study based on elaborating its rule and verdict rather than pursuing the tradition of commentating a single hadith. Thus, as a result of this work being analysed, it is aimed for an Ottoman muhaddith opinion regarding matters of the science of hadith to be put forth who lived in the 18th century.
