Investigation of Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu's works in the context of values education

The aim of this research is to examine the works of Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu in the context of values education. The research is a descriptive qualitative patterned research and the data collection technique is used as a document analysis technique. The research was based on the root value of the books in the Turkish course curriculum (2019): Can Ocağında Pişen Aş, Dedem Korkut'un Kitabı, Karşılaştırmalı Türk Destanları, Kutsal Mahpus Ebu Hanife, Sonsuza Uyanan Taşlar and Türk İslam Efsaneleri, which are included in the Kültür Dizisi I series by Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu. The frequency of the root values in the works was determined and different tables were created for each work. Then the data were interpreted and reported together with the sample sentences quoted from the books. According to the results obtained from the research, it was determined that the values of respect, love and benevolence were the most prominent root values in the works in Kültür Dizisi I. In addition, the values of friendship, honesty, self-control, responsibility and patriotism have come to the fore in different works. It was also found that the values of fairness and patience were less frequent in passing throughout the works. When the works are considered in terms of teaching values, it is determined that the Türk İslam Efsaneleri work respect, love and benevolence; the Karşılaştırmalı Türk Destanları work love and benevolence; the work of Can Ocağında Pişen Aş respect and love; the work of Dedem Korkut'un Kitabı respect, love and benevolence; the work of the Kutsal Mahpus Ebu Hanife respect love and self-control and the work of the Sonsuza Uyanan Taşlar patriotism and responsibility, It has been determined that it can be used in teaching.
