Özet (EN)
Agriculture has taken its place among the building blocks of the Ottoman Empire since its foundation. With the expansion of lands, agriculture has become increasingly important and many of the livelihoods are based on agriculture. However, as a result of the changing balances in the world and some events that took place in Europe, industrial branches emerged and brought with then new business lines. While most of the great states became rich through industry, the Ottoman state could not abandon primitive methods in the field of agriculture and fell behind the times. The lands lost as a result of the great wars in the last years of the state shook the economy. At the end of the war, the state experienced great difficulties in food problems and the supply of agricultural foods. The Mondros (The Armistice of Mudros), which included hard conditions, disappointed the people once again. During the period, agriculture gradually decreased, occupations began and the people were unable to plow the fields. The majority of the people faced hunger and dared to struggle for liberation under difficult conditions. The Ankara government wed its authority in the field of agriculture, did what the İstanbul government could not do, resisted the occupations and directed the people to agriculture. Key Words: Armistice Period, Agriculture, First World War, Economy.
