Impact and future of artificial intelligence applications' on museums

In recent years, the development of computer hardware and the relative decrease in costs have accelerated the research and applications of artificial intelligence. This artificial intelligence revolution, which is effective in a wide range from industrial applications to mobile phones, has started to find its value in the culture and art sector. Museums are also suitable institutions to play an active role in this change. In this thesis, with a short introduction to artificial intelligence, examples of artificial intelligence applications which are applied in museums today or will be in the near future are explained in the context of its affects on museum visitors and museology studies. Due to the scope of the thesis, technical narrative has been avoided as much as possible.
