Evaluation of the problems faced by music teachers in creating music activities in their schools, according to teachers' opinions

In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the problems that music teachers encounter in creating musical activities in the institutions where they work, according to teachers' opinions. In this context, the research aims to determine the attitudes and behaviors of the administration, teachers, parents and students while preparing activities in schools on certain days and weeks of music teachers working in the Ministry of National Education. During this preparation phase, it was determined what difficulties music teachers faced. The research is a descriptive research and has a survey model. Survey technique was used as a data collection tool in the research, and content analysis was conducted on the answers given to the open-ended question. In the survey used to collect data; 7 questions related to personal information, "Problems that music teachers encounter in preparing music activities due to school administration", "participation status of students in music activities", "problems with equipment and physical space", "Problems that music teachers encounter in preparing music activities due to students' parents", A total of 30 questions were asked, including 29 closed-ended questions classified according to the headings "other problems that music teachers encounter in preparing music activities" and 1 open-ended question to obtain teachers' opinions on the subject. A "Five-Point Likert" type rating scale was used for 29 closed-ended questions to determine teachers' opinions, with answers such as "not at all (1), partially (2), moderately (3), to a large extent (4), completely (5)". As a result of the research; Insufficient music lesson hours in secondary and high school levels, music teachers having limited time for rehearsals, inadequate music classroom and instrument equipment, and school administrations not providing the necessary facilities, etc. These problems have been identified as the main problems faced by music teachers in creating music activities in their schools.
