Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, construction materials, namely stone, brick and mortar of eight structures built during Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk Periods in Myra and its port Andriake, located in the province of Antalya were experimentally investigated and their characteristics were identified. Properties of original materials were determined by performing physical and mechanical tests, chemical analysis and microstructural studies on specimens provided from these structures. In addition, due to the wide range of variability of mortars compared to other materials, alternative mortars having similar properties with original mortars were developed and proposed which can be used in repair works.KEYWORDS: Mortar, Brick, SEM/EDX, Characterization, Historical Building
