The Importance Of Nafi Atıf KANSU In The Turkish History Education

History of Education has always kept in the background among Turkish History resources. The fact that the perception and understanding of history in our country is examined more in the political-military planes is inevitable. From the Ottoman Empire to the Republic, The general framework of a work that covers two periods strongly influences the content of the work.Especially after 1950, the interest in this area has decreased with the start of the education history being removed from the school curricula.Such a situation in the sense of history as a whole can not sufficiently illuminate our past. Despite all these negativities, very valuable works has been given in this area. in this study, the way the history of our country receives in the process of transition from empire to national state identity and the life of 'Nafi Atuf Kansu', which is an important service on this way has been discussed.This transitional phase has been witnessed the social-cultural conflicts and fusions of the Anatolian geography that witnessed a new formation with the legacy that had survived.Nafi Atuf Kansu has always been involved in educational and cultural activities of every period of his life, even though he is a graduate of the Mulkiye.Especially his youthful years are filled with the work that gives the education community ideas and grounds.Both as an administrator and a savior, He has continued to his services until he was involved in political life.As a deputy, Nafi Atuf Kansu, who has been in politics for a long time, has never left the field of education. His ongoing missions and his writings at that time are proof of this. Many things can be said about him. But the most important aspects have constituted an important place in the history of education with his new educational perspectives, his humble character, his deep love for children.
