The perception of women in the stories of Nahid Sırrı Örik's stories

Although stories are considered as fictional texts, they are not independent of society'sperceptionand the world of the author like other literary genres, contain a lot of sociological data. Accordingly it is possible to study women and the place of women society topic sand characters treated in stories. Nahid Sırrı Örik has also allowed for female characters wtih different personality traits in his work and refered their perception of denger roles. He who has written works in many forms of literature, is one of the most important authors of Turkish literature. The aim of this study is to idendity elements of Nahid Sırrı Örik stories related to the personality traitsand gender roles of female characters. The main subject of the study includes seventy-six stories in the book named San'atkarlar,Kırmızı ve Siyah,Eve Düşen Yıldırım,Fatma Hanım'ın Evine Bir Erkek Lazım,Kibar Fahişe Zeynep, which were compiled after death of the author. Inthestories, the malicious feelings of women, their marriage life, physicaltraits as well as how their socioeconomic statusand social customaryun derstanding shapet heirlives are examined in sections. During the study, the Works belonging to Nahid Sırrı Örik were examinedandmany sources have been used in books, magazines, newspapers, academic studies written about.
