Özet (EN)

Wood is a raw material which is light, has high mechanical resistance and can find common usage in interior and exterior decoration. Boron compounds, which are common protective materials in indoor applications, do not provide long-term protection due to outdoor washing conditions. Nano-technological applications are used in computer science, robotics, surface coating and nano-composite production. It is thought that the nano materials used in the study will penetrate the wood more deeply and decrease the amount of homogeneous distribution and washing. VII In this study, pine (Pinus sylvetsris L.), Eastern spruce (Picea orientalis) and broad-leaved woods of Anatolian chestnut (Castanea sativa M.), which are widely used in our country, were chosen by random methods from 1st class timber. Nano hexagonal boron nitride selected as preservative was impregnated to wood material at 1.5% concentration. Some physical and mechanical tests were applied to the impregnated and control samples. air dry density (ISO 3131), flexural strength (ISO 3133) and elasticity modulus (ISO 3349) of wood were determined. Scots pine showed a higher retention value than spruce and chestnut in terms of retention values. The fact that the Anatolian chestnut contains a high amount of tulle formation can be shown as the reason of the decrease in permeability rate. After impregnation, nano hexagonal boron nitride caused an increase in air dry density values between 1.5% and 5%. Impregnation for all wood species caused a decrease in bending strength values. According to the control samples, after the application of h-BN, 25% in pine, 18.5% in spruce and 9% in chestnut decreased bending strength values. Different results were obtained for chestnut wood in terms of elasticity modulus values. Impregnation application caused a decrease in elastic modulus values of pine and spruce by 18% and 1%, respectively, causing a 4% increase in chestnut.
