The relation between narcissism and religiosty

The objective of this research is to examine the relation of university students between narcissism and religiosity, demographically and psycho-socially with the variables of (gender, age, faculty, class, high school, residential place where most of the time spent, socio-economics conditions of family etc) and explain their interrelation. In this study, questionnaire technique is applied in this relational screening model. Selected research field is 2017-2019 bachelors students, who study at the Istanbul University. The samplery of the research is 827 students, studying at the faculty of divinity, the faculties of medicine, the faculties of literature, the faculties of management and the faculties of economics. As a measurement instrument of participants, in order to find out their demographies, the personal information questionnaires are used. To document the narcissism levels of the students, 16 questions Narcissistic Personality Inventory, which was revised and translate into Turkish in 2009 by Salim Atay and Intrinsic Religious Motiviation Scale consisting of 10 articles that was developed in (2001) by Faruk Karaca, were used. According to the research result, a meaningful co-relation between narcissism and religosity has been found. It has been found meaningful relation between narcistic levels and gender, faculty, graduated high school, the status of livehood of parents, education level of mother, education level of father, the condition of practising daily praying and passion to Kaba visit. There has not been identified an significant co-relation between narcissistic tendencies of students and age, class, residential place, socio-economic conditions of family, condition of praying of mother, condition of praying of father and social media presence with an open identity.
