Nebîl dîvâni's contextual i̇ndex and functional dictionary

One of the most rooted cultures and literatures of the world is Turkish culture and literature. The national culture, which has been shaped by literary work in the historical process, has provided that this culture is passed down from generation to generation. Turkish culture has had a strong structure until today. Dîvân literature, which emerged with the establishment and fall of the Ottoman Empire and ended its existence, reigned in Ottoman geography for about seven years and played the role of the carrier of Turkish culture. The transfer of culture in divan literature came about with the understanding of the works examined. In literary works, it is not possible to fully understand the emotions that reflect the temperament of the poet. Many elements such as the unique impressions of each period, living conditions, beliefs, characteristics of the spoken and written language make literary works difficult to understand. Therefore, methods and methods of examining literary works are tried to be developed. In this study, an attempt has been made to create a contextual index and a functional dictionary of Mehmed Nebîl Dîvân, one of the poets living in the 19th century. Giving the meaning of a word out of context is an incomplete and misleading method. Therefore, a qualified and effective dictionary study can be made possible by determining the meanings acquired in the context of the word. Considering the most detailed semantic differences of words in a text based on the semantic-contextual relationship, the prepared dictionaries are called "contextual dictionaries", and the nonsense string of words presented with its context is called "contextual index". In this study, the thesis takes advantage of the words of his divan, which is the only work we have of the nineteenth century divan poet Mehmet Nebîl and discusses the meaning of words according to the context and the changes in the meaning of words. Our study consists of four parts. Part one; the life and work of Mehmed Nebîl, part two; socio-cultural structure detected in the court, part three; contextual index and functional dictionary. In addition to the dictionary section, some of our reading suggestions, the fourth chapter with words that have no meaning and cannot be read, have been added and thus our work is finished.
