Psychobiography of Necip Fazil Kısakürek

The aim of this study is to try to analyze the life of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek from a psychobiographical perspective. The life of Kısakürek was examined with the knowledge gained with the concepts and assumptions of psychoanalysis. The method is based on psychoanalytic theory. The psychoanalytic theory established by Sigmund Freud has functioned as a toolkit in our work with the components we have associated. It is aimed to reveal the life story of an intellectual who stands out with his artist and actioner identity and to analyze his personality with a developmental perspective through his religious transformation. With certain themes, Kısakürek's inner world was directed, explanations were made and interpretation activity was carried out. As a result, with the help of the data obtained from the literature with a psychobiographical perspective, emotions, motives, and psychological traits were identified in his past experiences, which constitute a source of motivation by stepping up his orientation, decisions and maneuvers in the following years. Based on his works and the writings about him, the conceptual framework presented by psychology was compared with his own descriptions, and the connection points in the inner world of his behaviors and discourses were determined. Within the framework of the psychology of religion, his identification with Abdülhakim Arvasi was analyzed by referring to his religious transformation and attachment figures within the scope of object relations, and it was determined that his self-perception, loneliness, anger, and heroic ideal were transformed in parallel with his religious tendencies. It has been observed that this theory has significant projections on the events and turning points in the life course of Kısakürek, and it has been realized that the examined themes overlap with the theory in question.
