Contemporary philosophical approaches on the concepion of causality

Human wants to know, understand and explain his environment as a natural result of his communication with nature. There are many types of knowledge that its uses for this purpose. One of them is the type of scientific knowledge. This type of knowledge uses an experiment-based proving method. It is possible to say that many successful theories have emerged together with the combination of this method with mathematics. Successful descriptions of the scientific information type about nature allow it to differentiate from other types of knowledge. But it is necessary to recognize that there are intense discussions and questions waiting to be answered against the background of every scientific success. These discussions form the basis of the philosophy of science when considered as a systematic whole. Questions and discussions in which philosophy of science seeks answers. contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge. There are many problems that the philosophy of science is trying to solve. One of these problems (perhaps the most important) is the "causality" problem. Many philosophers make suggestions to solve this problem. In this study, we will include how the problem is analyzed by contemporary philosophers. In the introduction of our study, we will mention the historical background of the problem of "causality". We will then devote space to the thoughts of the British philosopher David Hume, who made the first serious criticism of the problem in an epistemological sense. Then, in the relevant literature, we will include the analysis of the theory of regularity, the theory of necessity, and the approach of dispositional causation. In the conclusion section, we will compare these analyzes and discuss the advantages of the dispositional causation approach.
