Abstract (EN)
Nietzsche is an existential philosopher who says "There is an old illusion. It is called good and evil."; thinks that the origin of life is a fundamental conflict and makes this antagonism immortal (which makes us say Haecceity, "That's it!"). Bergman is a philosophical director who seeks his existence between contradictions and gives his answers with his films. At this point, Nietzsche uses the 'written philosophy', while Bergman uses 'film as a philosophy' like a reflective art of their mental world. Nietzsche, who seeks an answer to his question Who are we in our own essence?, mentions that people who have an artist's perspective are in an endless creating process to create their world of thought. Bergman, with his artist/creative explorer spirit, presents us cinematic options for life with his conflictions and colliding contradictions. He tries to solve his existential problems by creating a new bifurcation in each of his films, and he invents virtual-rhizomatic-philosophical fields to the audience. In this study, it is aimed to explain and evaluate the concepts formed by Nietzsche's approach to existence problem through the movies of director Ingmar Bergman; Seventh Seal (1957), Winter Light (1963), Persona (1966), Wild Strawberries (1957), Nietzsche's book Thus Spake Zarathustra (1883) was taken as the main reference. On the basis of the existential perspectives and concepts created by Nietzsche for "life" and "upper man", existential, philosophical similarities between Nietzsche and Bergman and his films have been tried to be determined from the perspective of "film as a philosophy".
