Translation and analysis of Köroğlu, a historical novel with old letters by Nizamettin Nazif Tepedelenlioğlu

Nizamettin Nazif Tepedelenlioğlu is a multi-directional author accommodating a number of roles such as novelist, journalist, politician, translator and critic. As a result of this multi-directionality, he had works in literature, as well. This study was carried out as there were not any dissertations on the author, who has the title of the author of the first historical novel in Republic period. Although he was criticized as falsifying the history, his novels were very popular among the public and the intelligentsia. It was identified that Köroğlu, one of his historical novels, was written with old letters and has not been translated yet. The main subject of this study is to analyze the novel through classical review method after translating it to Latin alphabet. Keywords: Nizamettin Nazif, Köroğlu, history novel, novel analysis.
